Teen Mom Tasered Twice

A teen mother was tasered twice by police while she was holding her baby; police were worries mother was holding her bay in dangerous fashion.

There are times when the sue of a taser is justified and there are times when it is not and there are, unfortunately, times when it it is a difficult call. This particular time, my feeling is that the taser was not the best method of handling the situation. The Vancouver police officers may indeed have been worried about the bone month's old's safety and it is possible that the teenager may be mentally disturbed, but surely there is a better way to remove the child from the mother's arms without using a taser twice. A Vancouver police department release says the young mother was "touched" with a Taser on her arm and back when officers feared she was holding her infant in a way that could smother him. Last Monday afternoon in Vancouver police were called after social workers were unable to convince the mom to hand over her child. There was concern the baby required immediate medical attention as he was born with life-threatening conditions and . The police claim the teenager is mentally disturbed and the Taser was used only after prolonged negotiations had failed. After being tasered twice, the mother dropped the baby to her lap and he was taken to hospital while the mother was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and is now receiving treatment.
