Two fast food addicts from Norwich, England have tied the knot in their own special, high-cholesterol way. Who says a wedding cake need be chocolate, vanilla or strawberry? How about a giant hamburger? Read on, whether you prefer ketchup or mustard.
Two English fast food lovers have shown that relishing married life can occur in more ways than one. According to
news sources, for Tom and Kerry Watts a wedding cake is a giant hamburger that weighed in at 42pounds, which is the equivalent of about 100 quarter pounders and measured nearly half a meter (about one and one half feet) wide.
The wedding reception was held at Zak’s American Diner in Norwich, England. Firefighter Tom, 36, said:
“Not only did I get to marry the woman of my dreams but I also got to have the burger of my dreams on the same day. I could not believe the size of the burger. It was just incredible. Everything has just been amazing. It was the best day ever.”
Kerry, also 36, added:
“
We love burgers and thought it would be a bit of fun. It made the day even more special. We love chocolate too so we also had a chocolate cake.”
The giant burger weighed 400oz when uncooked and it took butcher, John Baxter, a whole day to create it. It needed three hours cooking time, not to mention three chefs to lift it out of the oven before it could be put into the specially made sesame seeded bun that had to be cut in half with a saw. The burger also featured 12 iceberg lettuces, 12 onions, 30 tomatoes, 48 slices of dill pickle, 2kg of cheese, a litre of ketchup and a litre of mayonnaise.
Happy fast food wedding and…
