Racially charged fliers like the ones distributed by a white supremacist group in New Jersey have no place in the arena of political discussion and only serve to divert attention from issue based reasons for opposing an Obama Presidency.
A very strong case can be made against Barack Obama by simply examining his position on key issues, checking his voting record or taking notice of the type of people with whom he associates. There is absolutely no reason nor is there any excuse for bringing race or ethnicity into the discussion.
According to a story in the
Star-Ledger, a group calling itself the League of American Patriots, distributed fliers in several Roxbury neighborhoods over this past weekend. The fliers asked readers if they wanted a "black president" and stated that "black-ruled nations were the most violent and unstable in the world". The group's website states that they are
"committed to restoring America to the principles upon which it was founded. First and foremost is halting the rapid demographic decline of the European peoples in our homeland".
Hmmm, looks like someones Klan is showing.
As stated earlier, there are many valid reasons one can find for not voting for Obama, none of which are related to race. Consider the following few examples:
He earned the title of Most Liberal Senator in 2007, as announced by
National Journal in January 2008.
As detailed in an article on
Real Clear Politics , he often chooses to vote present rather that take a stand on critical pieces of legislation.
As shown in this clip
here, when speaking without the aide of a teleprompter, he seems unable to form a coherent sentence.
He spent more than 20 years sitting in church listening to the ranting sermons of
Jeremiah Wright, a man he referred to as mentor. Nothing more to say here.
William Ayers is another Obama acquaintance that should cause one to question Obama's judgement. Not familiar with the name? Google William Ayers or the Weather Underground.
Race, gender, ethnicity and religion have no place in this electoral debate. It is asinine, moronic, ridiculous and totally inexcusable to oppose a candidate based solely on the color of their skin. It is equally asinine, moronic, ridiculous and totally inexcusable to support a candidate based solely on the color of their skin.
The criteria used to judge a person's qualifications or lack thereof, should be fact and issue based and extend far beyond the color of skin.
