article imageOp-Ed: Naomi Wolf, A Case Study In Palin Derangement Syndrome

By Johnny Simpson     Sep 23, 2008 in Politics
Since Sarah Palin was nominated for VP by John McCain, Palin Derangement Syndrome has been in full bloom in the media and on the Left. But just when I thought it couldn't get worse, HuffPo blogger and 'feminist' Naomi Wolf surprised me. Well, not really.
Some choice excerpts from 'feminist' Naomi Wolf's HuffPo blog entry 'The Battle Plan II: Sarah 'Evita' Palin, The Muse of the Coming Police State' with commentary:
Please understand what you are looking at when you look at Sarah “Evita” Palin. You are looking at the designated muse of the coming American police state.
You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand “Palin Power.” A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections — but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control.
Remember, Russia has Presidents; Russia holds elections. Dictators and gangs of thugs all over the world hold elections. It means nothing. When a cabal has seized power you can have elections and even presidents, but you have freedom. [sic]
In essence, what this passage says is that Sarah Palin is Josef Stalin to McCain's Vladimir Lenin. Note the Russian references? And considering America holds elections and dictatorships also hold elections, ergo America is a dictatorship. Truly stunning logic.
There's lots more. Unfortunately.
Reports confirmed my suspicions: Palin, not McCain, is the FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal. The strategy became clear. Time magazine reported that Rove is "dialed in" to the McCain campaign. Rove's protégé Steve Schmidt is now campaign manager. And Politico reported that Rove was heavily involved in McCain's vice presidential selection. Finally a new report shows that there are dozens of Bush and Rove operatives surrounding Sarah Palin and orchestrating her every move.
When all else fails, bring out Darth Vader to stir things up.
I particularly like the Palin/Evita/FrankenBarbie associations. Real erudite political discourse.
And why don't we throw in tinfoil favorites Halliburton, KBR and Cheney for good measure?
If McCain-Palin get in, this will be the last true American election. She will be working for Halliburton, KBR, Rove and Cheney into the foreseeable future -- for a decade perhaps -- a puppet "president" for the same people who have plundered our treasure, are now holding the US economy hostage and who murdered four thousand brave young men and women in a way of choice and lies.
I particularly like the following passage, in light of Sarah Palin's email break-in:
Almost everyone I work with on projects related to this campaign for liberty has been experiencing computer harassment: emails are stripped, messages disappear. That's not all: people's bank accounts are being tampered with: wire transfers to banks vanish in midair.
I personally keep opening bank accounts that are quickly corrupted by fraud. Money vanishes. Coworkers of mine have to keep opening new email accounts as old ones become infected. And most disturbingly to me personally is the mail tampering I have both heard of and experienced firsthand.
My tax returns vanished from my mailbox. All my larger envelopes arrive ripped straight open apparently by hand. When I show the postman, he says "That's impossible."
Horrifyingly to me is the impact on my family. My childrens' report cards are returned again and again though perfectly addressed; their invitations are turned back; and my daughters many letters from camp? Vanished. All of them. Not one arrived. Try explaining that to a smart thirteen year old. Try explaining it in a way that still makes her feel secure and comfortable.
Or try explaining it in a way that convinces Ms. Wolf's daughter her mother doesn't belong in an insane asylum.
Did it ever occur to Ms. Wolf and 'almost everyone she works with' to notify the authorities that their bank accounts and emails are being hacked, or that tax returns vanished from her mailbox? These are all serious federal crimes last I checked.
Or is she afraid Dick Cheney or Karl Rove might answer the phone? For moonbats like Wolf, Cheney and Rove are like Elvis. They're everywhere.
Whew! The only thing missing from this rant is a Sandra Bernhard-like threat of siccing her 'big black brothers' on Palin to gang-rape her. But is Ms. Wolf's deranged mentality and PDS affliction really that far removed from Bernhard's?
I would say Naomi Wolf is out of her tree, but I seriously doubt she even has a tree to fall out of.
This stuff is REALLY getting stale. For the last 28 years we have been hearing how evil Republicans are seeking to overturn Roe v. Wade and force women back into back alley abortions, to put blacks back in chains (as Whoopi Goldberg so eloquently inquired of John McCain on The View), to steal our freedoms and construct a police state.
Yet Republicans have run the White House for 20 of the past 28 years, often in conjunction with Republican control of Congress and even Supreme Court majorities.
Yet Roe v. Wade is still in effect, the abortion industry is cranking in fifth gear with over $300M in annual Congressional funding, blacks and other minorities enjoy privileges and rights under the law (hiring preferences, job fairs, scholarships, small business loans, government contracts and grants, etc, etc.) that whites do not have or are denied, and America remains the beacon of freedom she always has been.
Millions of people around the world would not risk all to trade one police state for another. It just doesn't happen. What would be the point?
Left-wing nutjobs like Naomi Wolf, blinded by the tinfoil, have no idea how greatly their constant vitriol and fear-mongering damage candidates like Obama, and even the Democratic Party itself. The American people grow tired of their constant rantings and threats of political Armageddon should their party not win.
Unfortunately for Ms. Wolf and others like her, most Americans have at least a semi-solid grasp of reality.
Lastly, Ms. Wolf's closing words on Der Fuhreress:
Scharansky divided nations into "fear societies" and "free societies." Make no mistake: Sarah "Evita" Palin is Rove and Cheney's cosmetic rebranding of their fascist push: she will help to establish a true and irreversible "fear society" in this once free once proud nation. For God's sake, do not let her; do not let them.
I live in a free society last I checked. I can access anyone, speak to anyone, do most anything, go most anywhere, read anything I want, and write anything I want. I can even call the ACLU or protest the government without taking a bullet.
In my America, The Constitution and Bill Of Rights reign supreme, as they have for over two hundred years.
Then again, I spend my time living in the real America, not hiding under a tinfoil desk.
Lastly, a hat tip to Little Green Footballs for the following revealing report by one of America's most avowed 'feminists', i.e. Ms. Wolf.
Behind The Veil Lives A Thriving Muslim Sexuality:
The West interprets veiling as repression of women and suppression of their sexuality. But when I travelled in Muslim countries and was invited to join a discussion in women-only settings within Muslim homes, I learned that Muslim attitudes toward women's appearance and sexuality are not rooted in repression, but in a strong sense of public versus private, of what is due to God and what is due to one's husband.
It is not that Islam suppresses sexuality, but that it embodies a strongly developed sense of its appropriate channelling - toward marriage, the bonds that sustain family life, and the attachment that secures a home.
Could've fooled me.
But what do I know? I'm not a brilliant 'nuanced' feminist like Ms. Wolf.
BTW from here on out, I will consider the word 'nuanced' when spoken by a left-wing moonbat like Ms. Wolf as interchangeable with doublethink, the ability to hold two or more opposing points of view at the same time.
Like two plus two equals four. Or three. Or five. Or all of them at once.
How else do you explain a modern feminist's 'nuanced' interpretation of the rampant suppression of female sexuality in predominantly Islamic states as beneficent, yet attacks her own country, the freest nation on earth (particularly for women) as an evangelical fascist state?
I need an aspirin.
