The topic of tonight's debate is Foreign policy and national security issues.

We will be live blogging the event and commentary will be updated below in the comment section. This will be updated continuously as questions are asked, answers and rebuttals are given by the candidates.

Jim Lehrer of PBS’s The NewsHour will moderate and the format will have each candidate receiving two minutes to respond to a question, followed by an open discussion for another five minutes.
