The election in the United States will continue to play out until the polling gates close in November. The candidates know who will be making that final decision deciding the winner. They are both gunning for Jane Doe.
The upper middle class white man used to decide who would rule the United States every four years. He's been replaced by a woman. Meet Jane Doe, the lady McCain and Obama both want to be best friends with.

Jane looks like your best friend. She's making due on what she has, hoping that her kids turn out alright. She is also hoping that a scholarship comes through for the kids, they really should have a college education but it will be hard to swing those costs. She talked to her father earlier this week and is worried that he is taking half pills instead of the full dose his doctor prescribed. Her dad is cutting corners to make ends meet. She's taking the bus to work, not so much to help the economy but rather because her husband works farther away from home. They can only afford gas for one car nowadays. Last month she had to use Visa to cover the water bill. She scrimps where she can but manages to buy concealer to hide the fact she only slept 5 hours last night. Laundry was the last thing to be completed and she didn't hit the pillows until after midnight.

I'm sure you know her. Obama and McCain both want to know her. They want her to like them better than the other guy. She's not yet decided who she is going to vote for. She's the deciding factor.

Jane Doe isn't that up to date with politics. There are only so many hours in the day. She catches the ads when she takes a break watching her favorite shows at night. She's not sure if Obama is Muslim but figures McCain's more for the upper class. She's not clear as to who deserves her vote. Chances are she'll decide the last week before the polls open.

Jane's friends like what Obama says but are concerned he's just too good to be real. McCain's choice of Palin looks pretty nice too, but is she really a religious nut? And really does the it matter who the vice president is, they aren't the one in the Oval Office.

In November the Janes of the nation will march into their polling booths and help elect a man to lead the country. It will come down to which man presents a better case in the end. The final outcome of this year's race will hinge on the last minute choice.

As Yahoo reports Deb Anderson of Urbandale, Iowa saying:

"I'm going to keep watching and just see what happens," Anderson says. "Things change so much."
