The McCain team has assembled an impressive roster of advisors to be headquartered in Arlington, VA, to deal with the daily attacks against Sarah Palin. The Washington Post report questioning Palin’s daily expenses as Alaska’s governor is losing steam
The Atlantic announced this afternoon McCain Campaign Stands Up Palin Truth-Squadding Team.
"The McCain campaign is standing up a truth-squadding operation designed to push what they deem as "smears" about Gov. Sarah Palin out of circulation . . .The campaign plans to announce the team's existence today in the wake of a report by John Fund about Democratic operatives and lawyers scouring Anchorage for dirt about Palin."

Fox news reported this afternoon Palin’s Daily Allowance Practices Unusual Among Female Governors..

"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s reported practice of collecting a “per diem” allowance on days spent at her private home as well as her charges for travel expenses for her family, do not appear to be practices shared by other female governors with children."

Palin earns $125,000 a year. She claimed and received $16,951 as her allowance and her husband and daughters charged the state $43,490 to travel to Juneau from ther home in Wasilla, 600 miles away. That’s a total of $60,441.00.

The story that started the furor this morning in the Washington Post admitted that Palin’s expenses are not unusual under Alaskan state policy.

"Gubernatorial spokeswoman Sharon Leighow said Monday that Palin's expenses are not unusual and that, under state policy, the first family could have claimed per diem expenses for each child taken on official business but has not done so."

Had Palin kept the governor’s private jet, which former governor Frank Murkowski spent $463,000 on in 2006, her daily allowances would be a non issue.

According to well-known blogger, Sister Toldja: "A number of blogs have patiently refuted and debunked this latest “scandal.”
