A Wisconsin man says because of his obsessive-compulsive disorder, he is eating Big Mac burger every day for the past 36 years. He has eaten 23,000 Big Macs so far.
Don Gorske, 54, began this obsession of eating one burger every day when he got his first car on May 17, 1972. To prove that he has really eaten 23,000 Big Macs, he has kept his sales receipts in a box.
Gorske said he has always been fascinated with numbers. When he noticed McDonald’s tracking its number of customers, it made him track his own eating habits. He has kept this habit meticulously for the past 36 years. McDonald's stopped counting in 1994 after it served nearly 100 billion burgers in 53 years but Gorske didn't slow down.
During those 36 years, he skipped a daily Big Mac only once when his mother died and he had to respect her request that day.
He works as a correctional-institution employee.
He said he doesn’t care what other people think about his Big Mac obsession and he enjoys eating the Big Mac every day.
The article doesn’t say whether he is taking any treatments for his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
