The Gold medal favorites who are taken into account as the Paralympics rookies in compare with teams such as US, Brazil, Canada and Australia, are looking forward to reach the final match and cadge their medal, now that they passed the major opponents of group 1 in the first three days of wheelchair basketball at 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
The Iranian side thrashed Sweden in the first day and defeated the European competitor 92-66; also they won against the powerful and physical squad South Africa 73-62 and finally crushed the Japanese squad 69-52 to be prepared for the next match against Germany.
After facing Germany, next match of Iranian wheelchair basketball team will be held against Canada, the reigning champion of Paralympics in the past years.
The Iranian disabled basketball team enjoys 5 legionnaires of the European clubs of Italy, Spain and Turkey. This team was ranked 9th in the Athens 2004 Paralympics.
