Iran is set to hold the first international Persian Gulf sand statue festival on the southern coasts of the country in Bushehr province.

'Persian Gulf, Peace and Friendship of Nations' will be held by Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in the city of Ganaveh.
Artists from around the globe will gather during Nowruz (Persian New Year) holidays in March 2009 to create their artworks in an area of 50 hectares.
Scientific, historical, ecological and anthropological seminars will be held on the sidelines of the event.
