The church where Sarah Palin is a member believes that homosexuals can be turned straight through prayer. Those views reflect the believes of who could be the next vice president of the United States.
The Huffington Post reports:
"You'll be encouraged by the power of God's love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality," according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed for about six years.
Palin's religious views are a reflection on how she sides with human rights issues. The Alaska governor is anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.
In the beginning days of her administration she supported a bill that would overrule a court decision to block state benefits for gay partners of public employees. She vetoed the bill only after the state attorney general said that it was unconstitutional. That was the beginning of losing fans in Alaska's gay population.
On the issue of Wasilla Bible Church's being part of the "Love Won Out" Conference in Anchorage Palin has yet to comment.
