Two Alberta teens have been found guilty of vandalizing a neighbor's home and causing unnecessary suffering and pain to the family's cat.
The two teens in question are part of a group of five teens who broke into a nearby home doing a great deal of damage by knocking holes in the walls, breaking TVs, and guitars and an act which could be described as brutally heinous.
The teens placed the family cat in a microwave and cooked the cat to death, which took as much as ten minutes. Not as bad as the lady who placed her baby in a microwave, but still bad enough to require a psychiatric evaluation. One of the two teens was found to be remorseful with an understanding of the crime and why it was wrong; the other teen though was found to understand the crime but had no remorse, guilt or empathy.
From the Globe & Mail
“There's no explanation for his actions,” said defence lawyer Bill Anderssen. “At least he doesn't have an explanation. He knows these people are devastated by his actions.”
Two of the teens involved in the two-night destruction have pleaded not guilty and will go to trial, while one of the families involved has moved from the Camrose area.
Surely this will be a crime which will follows these young adults for quite some time. That is the hope at any rate.
