Jon Stewart from the Daily Show recently pointed out the double standards in the media regarding Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
Using various TV clips, Stewart shows how the same commentators say different things on the same issues.

For example: Karl Rove praised Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s experience as the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. However, a month ago Rove belittled Virginia Governor and former Richmond Mayor Tim Kaine’s executive experience. Kaine was one of the top candidates for the VP slot, but Obama picked Joe Biden.

Bill O’Reilly, the mouthpiece of Fox News, always talks about teen pregnancy and attacks teens and parents viciously whenever opportunity arises. He did this recently with Jamie Lynn Spears (Britney Spears' sister) and her parents after Spears announced she was pregnant. However, the pregnancy of Palin's daugther Bristol has been a non-issue for O'Reilly.

Dick Morris, a frequent contributor to Fox News at the Republican Convention complained about rampant sexism in media coverage of Sarah Palin. Stewart then showed a clip of Morris, who attacked Hillary Clinton for saying she hides behind issues by using sexism as a defense.

Finally, Sarah Palin herself blamed the media for attacking her and family, but she called Hillary Clinton a whiner when Clinton blamed the media for doing the very same thing. Then, Palin said Clinton was not doing any good for women.

I think it's sad we are only getting the truth from the Comedy Channel through people like Jon Stewart, while lies and hypocrisy are abundant in the rest of the mainstream media.
