Want The Best Accoutrement For Your Brat? This Mustard Taste Test Is For You.

By Nikki Weingartner     Sep 1, 2008 in Food
Grilling out isn't complete without a good bottle of the yellow stuff. But which one to choose? With over sixty inexpensive varieties on the grocer's shelf, a recent taste test will aide consumers in choosing a good accoutrement for their next meal.
Whether its to accentuate the flavour of a delicious juicy frank or spice up a plain sandwich, the age-old condiment of mustard is one condiment that few homes seem to be without. Yet, unless you are a "Mustard Connoisseur" and spend hours upon hours studying every aspect of the tiny seed and its transition into the flavourful paste, it is doubtful that you know, or even care how those tangy brands rate.
A recent taste test just made it a little easier testing those under $4 US dollars and free of any "fancy" flavourings.

Overall Favourite Category:
Sweet Hot Mister Mustard - Oh, you again Mister Mustard. We're not surprised, seeing how you spiced up the joint before. Now you're back with something a little bit sweeter, and we've got to say -- it's working for us. Every single taster had the same reaction, with widened eyes, and some utterance of "Mmmm!" "Yum!" or "Oh my gosh!" It's a full-bodied combo of sweet and heat, suitable for sandwiches, hot dogs, salad dressings, pretzels, or just eating straight from the jar with a spoon.
So the next time you are having a little barbecue that involves a good bratwurst and just the right brew, spend a few extra moments on the condiments isle to choose a mustard that has been given taste test approval.
