article imagePutin saves TV crew from Siberian tiger

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was visiting a national park to observe how researchers monitor the tigers in the wild, when suddenly a tiger attacked a TV crew. Putin saved them by firing a tranquilizer gun at the rushing tiger.
Putin is on a short break, probably from the ongoing Georgia controversy. He visited a national park, where the wildlife specialists monitor the animals in the wild.
Putin arrived with a group of western researchers (from America and Europe) to see a trapped Amur tiger, the world’s biggest wild cat. But the Siberian tiger escaped and ran towards a nearby camera crew. Putin luckily saved them by using a tranquilizer gun at the tiger.
A TV news presenter on Rossiya, the country’s main television station told the audience:
Vladimir Putin not only managed to see the giant predator up close but also saved our television crew too,
They showed Putin wearing camouflage apparel and desert boots and he was seen measuring Amur tiger’s incisors for research purposes. The tiger, which can weigh up to 1,000 lb and measure up to 10 feet from nose to the tip of the tail, was let go after the researchers and Putin placed a satellite transmitter around its neck.
The Amur tiger has grown in large numbers because of such preservation efforts after being at the brink of extinction some years ago according to the WWF.
Putin appeared to deflect the attention to the researchers and thanked them for their conservation efforts in saving the Amur tigers.
First of all, we must thank our colleagues, Americans, European colleagues for being involved with this during a difficult time for Russia when no-one was paying any attention to this,
Putin has been recently involved in more environmental efforts in Russia. When he was the president, he helped redrew a planned oil pipeline route to avoid Lake Baikal and canceled plans for an Olympic village near Sochi that could have damaged local flora and fauna.
