Swimmer Michael Phelps will host the season premiere of NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) on September 13. Singer Lil Wayne will be the musical guest.
After his brilliant success in Beijing by winning a record eight gold medals in a single Olympics, Michael Phelps is gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated, has more than a million fans in Facebook and has endorsement deals lined up exceeding $100 million. And now he will host the popular SNL sketch-comedy show.
His acting may not be as brilliant as his swimming, but SNL has great writers and they know how to bring the best from guest hosts. Previously, LeBron James and Peyton Manning have hosted the shows with great success. The SNL producers can expect similar success from Phelps’ show.
Singer Lil Wayne will be the musical guest at this show, which premiers on September 13.
Other Olympians that have hosted the SNL include skater Nancy Kerrigan and skier Jonny Moseley.
It will be a highly anticipated show.
