Tony Kvale is the owner of Kvale Good Natured Games and he is convinced that board games made from recycled paper has significant economic potential.
Kvale Good Natured Games is the distributor of,among other games Bioviva and Head1Liners. The owner of the company Tony Kvale is convinced that these games because they are made from recycled paper offer a huge opportunity to cut waste and save resources.
To make his claim Kvale offers the following: the 100 per cent recycled fibers used in the games have saved nearly 10,000 trees and 850,000 pounds of CO2, 450,000 pound of solid waste, and 3.5 million gallons of water since he started business in 1996.
The U.S. board games market generates about U.S.$1 billion annually. This is a potential large market just waiting for the green games he distributes.
Kvale has made a presentation to a Forbes contest designed to boost small entrepreneurs. His is one of 20 companies in the semi-finals (other 'green' companies Jimi Wallet and Big Belly Solar as well as newcomer Eco-Q BBQ briquettes are vying for the $100,000 investment prize).
Kvale may be on to something that will provide fun for the young and old and be environmentally friendly at the same time.
