For voting against the proposed Dem state budget, Rep. Nicole M. Parra (D) was not only evicted by vindictive Democrats from her office in the capitol, but from the capitol itself. Parra is now the only state rep without such an office. This is America?
Technically I'm on hiatus from DJ, but I couldn't let this one slide. See it to believe it at BreitbartTV.
This isn't the first time vindictive California Democrats have punished wrongthinkers. Or I should say, wrongvoters. See, you ARE free to think in the California Democratic Party.
That's about it, it would seem. At least, if you want to keep your office.
By the way, she was ELECTED to that statehouse office. Who the hell are the CA Democrats to shove her so rudely from it while she is still a sitting Representative?
Are they not now in fact impairing her ability to perform her official duties?
I tell ya, Jimmy Stewart must be rolling in his grave. "The good news, Mr. Smith, is that tons of letters are rolling into Washington! The bad news is, you'll have to read 'em across the street."
How would Americans in that day and age reacted were THAT in the film? How should we react to it today? So what would you call this if it were a TV show?
"The Non-Office"?
"Reps and the City?"
"The Shieldless"?
Reminds me more of the Sopranos, to be honest. And it's not just limited to California.
Look at Joe Lieberman. Stand-up Liberal Democrat (the REAL ones get capital L's). Three-term Senator from Connecticut. Vice-Presidential candidate to Al Gore in 2000. Sure thing for another term. Shoo-in.
Then what happens?
He disagrees with the national party on Iraq and they try to run him out on a rail. MarKOS Moulitsas and the rest of the Nutroots legions head to Connecticut to oversee the Ned Lamont/KOSsack takeover of Lieberman's Senate seat, and get whomped anyway.
Why?
Because the rest of Connecticut, Liberal as they may be, aren't as nutty as KOS & Co. Yet Lieberman, now an Independent, remains a pariah among national Democrats (though not among his constituents, it would seem).
No forgiveness.
SO now Lieberman, who once spoke at the 2000 DNC Convention to accept his party's nomination for the Democratic Vice Presidential candidacy, will soon be speaking at the Minneapolis Convention for the GOP, which doesn't seem to begrudge Joe L for once being on the other side.
They are, in fact, welcoming him with open arms.
Maybe those fascist Neocons aren't as vindictive as we're told.
Unlike some people.
Look, it comes down to this, pure and simple. Do you have the freedom to perform your duties, voice your opinions and vote your conscience (or at least in the best interests of your constituents) as an elected public official of ANY party?
Or are you to suffer petty yet significant slings and arrows of political recriminations like those I have expounded on?
I can tell you one thing.
One of those behaviors is distinctly American.
The other is not.
Reeks of something else.
I do know one thing. DJ Mr. Garibaldi wishes there were more Democrats like Lieberman, and by extension fewer like those who in a pithy rage tossed Nicole Parra out of her official state office in Sacramento.
And so do I.
By the way, this isn't the first time California Democrats have been vindictive. As you might have caught from the Breitbart video, in 2006 they banished another wrongthinking rep to the smallest office in the building for voting against a bond measure.
Sorry.
I meant wrongvoting.
They'll get around to wrongthinking sooner or later, I'm sure. And that's where the dividing line in America is today: between those who think this kind of stuff is OK, and those who don't.
Like climatologists being fired for dissenting against Global Warming, for example.
There's a trend here. See it?
Or I should say, control freak personality disorder.
In closing, it seems to me the entire flavor of the national Democratic Party has changed in the past four decades. When was the last time you heard ANY of them talk like this?
When was the last time they even asked us to "ask not what our country can do for us"?
But I digress.
You get the picture.
And so, it would sem, does Rep. Nicole Parra.
What a disgrace.
Where's the Terminator when you need him?
