With new forms of solar-powered products hitting the market each year, some very odd as well as handy products are finding their way into the commercial markets, one of them being a solar-powered necktie.
Big companies seem to be spending big money into developing the next best thing in their specific product lines.
Whether it be from Triumph International who released a photovoltaic bra which could enable the user to charge her iPod while walking or the most recent development by researchers from Iowa State University who succeeded in bringing out a solar-powered necktie which is not only a handy charger for essential gadgets like cell-phones or Ipod but also carries a pocket to hold a camera. Similarly, Bogner Jeans from Germany are launching a solar powered denim jacket next year which comes with an included battery where extra power can be stored for use, later.
It seems that in a bid to out-rival competition, most brands are leaving no stone unturned to prove their own indigenous inventions are really worth the cash they demand with new concepts in lieu of issues the world is facing today, primarily the need for new and effective renewable sources in the fight against global warming.
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but as for me, I'm going to stock up on my solar powered watch, a shirt complete with a solar-powered tie, followed by a jacket which has an extra battery just in case and who knows, maybe a solar pair of boxers, in time to come.
Out goes the slogging backpacker!
