article imageStallone, who beat Russians to pulp in movies, wants to sponsor Russian Vodka

Actor Sylvester Stallone, the man who destroyed the Russians in movies like “Rambo” and “Rocky”, now plans to advertise for Russian vodka.
Russian vodka producer Synergy announced on Friday it has signed a one-year contract deal with Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone will appear in television and newspaper advertisements for the “Russian Ice” vodka brand from next month. Stallone and Synergy have reportedly signed the contract for $1 million (534,000 pounds).
In the movie Rambo Stallone’s character John Rambo kills dozens of Soviet Union (currently known as Russia) troops in Afghanistan and in Rocky he defeats his arch rival Ivan Drago, the Soviet boxer. Both the movies were banned in Soviet Union at that time but many watched it via the black market.
In real life, Stallone wants to endorse Russian products. Stallone will advertise “Russian Ice” with the slogan "there is a bit of Russian in all of us."
Synergy claimed they gave this role to Stallone because of his Russian roots. Stallone’s great-grandmother, Rosa Rabinovich was from the Ukrainian town of Odessa.
Either the Russians might be very forgiving in nature (which I doubt) or Stallone must be desperate for money.
