Facebook has become the world’s largest social network and it's growing at a record pace worldwide according to comScore statistics.
Facebook has surpassed MySpace and is now the world’s largest social network, with 132 million unique visitors in June. Its visitors are increasing by 153 per cent annually.

MySpace saw a dip and grew only 3 per cent, while other social networks grew; Hi5 grew by 100 per cent; Friendster grew by 50 per cent; Orkut grew by 41 per cent; and Bebo grew by 32 per cent according to comScore.

MySpace was twice as big as Facebook last year, but Facebook has surpassed it.

Facebook is also growing in North America with nearly 49 million visitors a month (growing at a rate of 38 per cent). In Europe, Facebook is seeing a high growth rate, with 35 million visitors, growing by ten fold. But in other regions Facebook is also adding users at phenomenal rates, including regions like the Middle East and Africa (403 per cent growth), Asia Pacific (458 per cent growth) and Latin America (10,555 per cent growth).

One reason for the sudden increase in users is due to additional language options, which Facebook added recently according to TechCrunch.
