A family of seven realized they were less one traveler on a flight to Paris when airline staff told them they had forgotten their 3-year-old daughter. The toddler was found wandering around alone in an area of the Ben-Gurion airport in Israel.
With over a dozen pieces of luggage in tow, a large Orthodox Jewish family headed out on a European vacation to Paris seemed somewhat reminiscent of the 1990 comedy film where an 8-year-old was left behind as his family rushed away to Paris on a Christmas vacation.
Due to their religion, no names were mentioned but the scenario was all too familiar. In a mad dash to make their flight to Paris, the family forgot one very important carry-on: their 3-year-old daughter.
According to a news report in the Corpus Christi Caller Times, an Israeli police chief named Micky Rosenfeld said:
...the parents were unaware they had boarded the aircraft with only four children instead of five until they were informed by cabin staff after 40 minutes in the air.
In a much different outcome than experienced by the young boy in Home Alone, the toddler was placed on the next flight to Paris under the supervision of airline staff to be reunited with her parents.
The parents will questioned upon their return from vacation for suspicion of parental negligence.
