Do the ghosts of evil people linger in their possessions after they have passed to the other side of the sod? No one knows for sure, but the Rolls Royce that once belonged to Saddam Hussein is now up for sale at eBay. Any brave bidders?
According to
news sources, a maroon convertible Rolls Royce, once owned by Saddam Hussein before he lost his terrible head, has gone up for sale on e-Bay. The Corniche sports car is expected to bring at least £185,000 ($370,000 US), and it comes with papers confirming its ownership by the former Iraqi tyrant. Steven Brown, the owner of a car dealership in Surrey, England, claims they will receive the car shipped directly from Baghdad within the next 28 days.
Brown told The UK Telegraph:
The car was bought at an Iraqi government auction over there by an Iraqi friend of mine who lives in the UK… We deal in Rolls Royces so I thought it might be an opportunity to put us on the map.
Already calls are filtering in from interested buyers, including an American colonel who wants to put SADDAM plates on the car. The state-of-the-art vehicle boasts heated, brown leather seats with red piping, a CD multi-changer and a climate control system. Before it is taken over by a buyer, it will be refitted with a new stereo to replace the one US soldiers allegedly removed when they found the car in the basement of Saddam's capital city palace.
Does this Rolls Royce come with a legacy? The entire matter reminds of an old joke about the curse of the Plotnick diamond. It seems the old guy, Plotnick, was very rich and extremely mean, and each of his 5 wives received the 5-carat diamond that had been in the family for years as a wedding gift. Warned there was a curse attached to it, it took a while and a few wives to figure out that the curse attached to the Plotnick diamond was Mr. Plotnick!
Need I say more?
