Vigster, a video gaming community website still in beta stages, hit the Web publicly yesterday. Hoping to become a resource for gamers, letting them build a virtual collection of games they own, have played or would like to play, the site is free to use.
Calling itself an “IMDB for video games”, Vigster users will be able to review and rate games, enter and start up discussions and add in as much additional information as possible on for any game. As an information source for video games, Vigster will be in direct competition with big-fish gaming news and community sites like CNET’s GameSpot and News Corp’s IGN.
Vigster’s special features include the option to play quizzes and submit video game quizzes and let’s users contribute by uploading screenshots and videos of their favourite games.
Vigster, run by Silversoft Technologies Ltd., is based out of London, England.
