A first of its kind magazine, is all set to hit the stands but be prepared, for you're in for a sight! You'll see text moving, zooming in and out on the cover. It's electronic ink!
The popular men's magazine, Esquire is all set to hit the stands with its newest addition this September. However, in a bid to change the way magazines are made in the world today, the cover will feature electronic ink. Call it a digital cover if you please!
A report by ANI stated:
Electronic ink paper is created by coating a surface with millions of tiny microcapsules. Each microcapsule has positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid.
When a very small electric charge is applied, the black particle will move to the top surface that makes a little black dot in that space. In this way, text characters and even graphic elements can be displayed.
The Editor-in-Chief of the said magazine might believe that the innovation was due for a long time, for magazines have looked the same for over 150 years, but how far the new technology would go into pleasing magazine subscribers still contains a reasonable doubt.
Many people still believe the old concept of magazines will retain its charm as the new cover might only make them feel like they're staring at a computer screen.
Well that might be a point, but then again, who doesn't want to see their favorite model posing on a magazine cover in real time, maybe?
