Can dogs drive cars? In one Chinese province some people (and some dogs as well) certainly think so. Read on and maybe…bark?
According to
news sources, a Chinese couple received a police caution for trying to teach their dog, Niu Niu, to drive. The Nanguo Morning Post reported that traffic police at Liunan spotted a car driving too slowly on a local expressway and when they pulled in closer to investigate they were amazed to see a French Poodle with its front legs on the steering wheel and its rear legs resting on the woman driver who was controlling the foot pedals!
According to one of the stunned police officers:
We immediately signaled the car to pull over.
The driver told police that she and her boyfriend decided the day was perfect for teaching Niu Niu to drive because the weather was good and the expressway was nearly empty. After all, that explains everything, doesn’t it?
Police gave them a warning ticket and asked them to take a more responsible attitude when driving on the expressway. They did not reprimand Niu Niu for his no-no and no one knows why.
What can one say? Perhaps the outing from the asylum was just too much for everyone that day. Maybe once a week really is too often to release inmates on their own recognizance!
