Lieberman: Hagee is like Moses

Joe Lieberman spoke at Pastor Hagee’s Christians United for Israel Church, and for the second consecutive year he compared Hagee to Moses.

Joe Lieberman, an ex-Democrat now supporting Sen. John McCain, spoke at John Hagee's Christians United for Israel church last night and told a crowd of 1,000 people that Hagee is like Moses. Lieberman said although he doesn’t agree fully with Pastor Hagee, he is still a great human being with human failings like Moses, who he said had his shortcomings as well. And he added how bloggers would have reacted to Moses and Miriam if they are alive today.

Dear friends, I can only imagine what the bloggers of today would have had to say about Moses and Miriam.

While McCain quickly dismissed Hagee’s support for him after he had said that Adolf Hitler was fulfilling God’s will by driving out Jews to Israel. In this article, Hagee and his group have plans to fight for Israel in the hope that they will fully convert all Jews to Christians eventually. Lieberman also criticized him at that time, but later said that we should judge him by his life’s work. I don’t know whether Lieberman is trying to curry special favors from Hagee and his group, but this praise that “Hagee compares with Moses”, is clearly too much.
