Introducing the healthier way to eat America's favorite fries: Burger King recently introduced Apple Fries to their menu, and customers are swooping the new item up as quickly as they were sliced.
Burger King recently introduced a new item that customers are raving about. The new BK Apple Fries. made of freshly cut apples, shaped like french fries - this new addition is a new healthy choice.

Consisting of only 45 calories per serving, BK is now offering this delicious fry substitute. Customers can choose to order their fries with carmel, rather than ketchup. But what do workers think of this new product?

"We have had them for two weeks and we are sold out" says a Burger King employee in Menasha, Wisconsin. "I never thought they would be such a hit." This new menu addition not only helps health, but saves the wallet. Each order is only $1.49, and includes carmel and the items very own frypod. "Frypods are what we call the containers, its almost like an ipod...another great thing!" says Chelsea Way of Brillion. From ipods to frypods, BK's new fry sensation is surely a hit. "Allowing more healthy choices is a great way to gain customers respect, and also to offer more choices" comments Way.

Not only have millions of these Apple fries sold, but Burger King recently introduced a few more items to their menu, including Cookie Dough Pie, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Sound appealing? It is. All choices are both under $2 and contain less than 150 calories each. "The best way to eat fast food is to choose healthy" said Way. "Apple fries look like normal fries, but are much healthier."

Try it for yourself at the nearest BK near you. Get them before they are gone, this new wave item could be as popular as an iPod...or is it frypod?

MickyD's has a apple option on their kid's meals. Believe it or not they sometimes balk at giving them to adults in the combo meals. Still I love them.

Now I have a reason to hit BK up. I wonder if they are offering the apple fries in Canada yet.

Very good article. KJ, I was surfing the net for your question - and I don't think Canada has them yet... here's a link.

Does anyone really think this is a good idea? Apple fries? What's next, blueberry wontons? It smacks of desperation when fast-food chains try to think of new ways to appeal to health-conscious diners...So pairing apples and fries must have struck them as pure gold, even if it makes me a tad nauseous to even think of tasting one.

I like my apples au naturel.

    What a perfectly marvelous idea.
Quasi-pseudo fast food which almost appears to be a healthy alternative except for the various chemicals used to keep the apple string units from turning brown, and to keep that "Johnny Appleseed" flavor.

And I'll go with Mr Ewings direction, instead of carmel, I would prefer just an old fashioned okra slime with crunchy rat sprinkles for dipping.

I think I'll stick to the normal potato fries, and eat an apple as an apple ...

    David Silverberg-

Just to add in to clarify- nothing has been added to these "Apple Fries." They are simply apples cut into fry shapes (so they are natural). The fat-free carmel sauce in a ketchup size packet is optional =).
