Future nights are limited for comedian Jay Leno. NBC announced the comic talk-show host will have his final take in May 2009. From headlines to Jay walking, audiences and fans are sure to miss the late night television host.
New came in that soon America will have a new funny man on late night NBC. Competition comedian Conan O'Brien will replace Jay Leno in the head chair on the Tonight Show. O'Brien will soon move from his perch from New York to Los Angeles to begin preperation for his new job.
No comments were made as to why the switch is taking place, but all that is insisted is that Leno, will be missed, and truly a celebrity of the late night comedy. Ben Silverman, a cochair for NBC believes all will be well. "We really believe in the decisions we've made with our partners, including Jay," Silverman said. In the meantime, NBC gave props to the departing host. "He is enormously creative, generous and professional" said Silverman on Leno.
In the end, the fate of the Tonight show rests in O'Briens hands. Only time will tell if this comedic replacement will capture America's hearts as Leno once did. No news on any future plans for Leno.
