Extermination Project Explodes: Bug Spray, Bombs Away!

By M Dee Dubroff     Jul 22, 2008 in Lifestyle
A poor, unsuspecting New Jersey man has taken the process of exterminating bugs to a new and potentially lethal level, but not only for the insects. Read on, even if the details may bug you.
According to news sources, Isias Vidal Maceda was spraying for pests in the kitchen of his New Jersey home and blew it up instead, taking the bugs, valuable items and almost himself in the process. Eatontown, New Jersey police told The New York Daily News that Maceda was unhurt, but 80 % of his standing by- minding-its own-business-apartment was destroyed.
Exactly what happened isn’t clear, but police have surmised that somehow the bug spray ignited a blast that blew out the apartment’s front windows and triggered a fire that quickly spread. The blaze also caused smoke damage to the apartment above.
Maceda’s new nickname in the neighborhood could become “The Terminal Exterminator.” Will the bugs that dared to invade his space come to respect he who sprays and ignites all around him? You may have to tune in same time, same station next week for the answer. Still, it seems unlikely, as bugs have their own agenda and probably enjoyed seeing a two-legged avenger get a three-fold dose of his own medicine.
Macada shouldn’t worry though. There’s always next year and more bugs. In fact his new mantra might well be:
So many bugs, so few apartments and so little time!
