Microsoft announces sales of Windows Vista licenses topping the 180 million mark along with achieving an annual revenue of more than $60 billion.
Microsoft, for long has been projecting an impressive increase in its sales of Vista ever since it was first launched, in a bid to rubbish all forms of criticism the operating system evoked and rumours of a decline in usage of the Windows platform.
Recently, in a press conference stated by the VP of Consumer Marketing for Microsoft Vista, Brad Brookes, unveiled what is called '
the real story of vista', where he laid substantial evidence on why Vista has improved ten fold since its release. With the new estimates in sales topping 180 million licenses being sold ever since Vista first came out, Microsoft seems to be back in the game with an annual revenue mark reaching $60 Billion.
The sudden increase in sales is especially attributed to the release of the new SP1.
However, Microsoft is known to have been counting only sales, not numbers, excluding the ones who've actually degraded from Vista to XP even though the latter has been rolled out of stock.
After the bad reviews in the media, the controversial new operating system off the shelves of Microsoft was expected to really get slammed in the market. With the new estimates in sales released by Microsoft, it seems they're having the last laugh after all.
While some wait in desperation for the next generation Windows 7 to come out to conveniently avoid any upgradation from the good old XP, Microsoft marketing also does away with whatever little hope still alive. Seems users have little choice but to go with whatever offered or else adapt to an entirely new and different operating system.
For those who already use a Mac or Linux, they have little to complain!
