Its been more than two months since the Sichuan Earthquake hit China. Hundreds of thousands lost their lives. These survivors lost everything, except hope.
More than 69,197 died in the Sichuan earthquake. About 375,000 people were injured. The massive earthquake which hit the Sichuan province of China left unprecedented devastation in its midst with huge destruction of property and loss of lives.

Of the thousands injured, more than 72 victims are being treated at the Sichuan Limbs Maim Restoration Centre. 26 of them have been fitted with artificial limbs.

For China, a nation which has some of the strictest child-birth laws in the world, has had to cope with rebuilding the nation and restoring the future of its children. It has also relaxed some of the laws such as the One Child Act which places restriction on the citizens of the country from having more than one child. The parents who lost their children to the earthquake can now have another child.

For some of the children shown in the following pictures, all is not lost, and they still have some hope as they undergo treatment for their loss of limbs and are able to live a normal life again.
