Dennis Kucinich is a brave man. Whatever else you may think of the five-term Congressman from Ohio’s 10th district, only a fool would deny his courage in running for Cleveland City Council before he was 21.
He later ran and was elected mayor of that city when he was 31. He is perhaps best known nationally for taking a crack at running for president in the Democratic primaries this past year and running well.

Kucinich didn’t win a lot of votes, but he made an impression with his passion and forthrightness and, you might say, went so far as establish himself as a brand name of sorts, one that stands for the courage to speak your mind.

Not coincidentally, he’s written a book called The Courage to Survive, that fills the rest of us in on a life story that only the people of Cleveland knew of before.

In this interview, Kucinich discusses his book, why he introduced an Article of Impeachment against President George W. Bush this week, why he thinks the U.S. Government will pursue criminal charges against Bush and Dick Cheney when their term expires in January 2009, and what Barack Obama is really like.

    Is it just me or does it now work after the ad?

    I get nothing but silence after the ad :(

    There's a quirk here because Rep. Kucinich called in late. If you slide the interview forward to 15:54, it starts there. I'm working to get it edited; I apologize for not discovering the glitch before posting. But if you're interested in Kucinich or American politics, I promise this one is worth your time.

    Great interview...especially liked when you took him to task about Bush and why you think Bush "isn't a smart guy at all." He kind of evaded the question, though.

    @Bob

    I quite enjoyed the interview. I truly wish more of this had been known when he was running in the primaries.

    Kucinich is a great, great smart man. I hope that he sticks around the national stage for the time when both Barack and Hilary are gone. Of course, that's probably 12-16 years away from now, but hell, Kucinich 2020!

    I'm still guessing 2012. At this point, whoever gets in is going to have a very hard time getting an automatic 2nd term.

    for sure - my argument, which is based on absolutely nothing, is that Obama goes this year, either re-runs or loses in 2012, Hilary takes the reigns in 2016 and either wins or loses. 2020m, Denis, please step up. hah... of course this not based on anything other than my own delusions

    Is it a delusion if more than one person thinks it? Here's my scenario .... either Obama or McCain has one term that's a non-starter: too many unaddressed campaign issues fill their term with confusion so little gets accomplished. The GOP picks a "younger, more in-tune" candidate for 2012, who loses for the very reasons that he was chosen. The Dems have a new primary where Obama loses the nom bc he just isn't trusted anymore; Hil and Kucinich run against each other. Whoever doesn't win takes it the next time around.

    Bob did you get a new embed code for this interview? It's still cutting off for me. I can't go past the 3-minute mark or so.

    The Kucinich audio is finally -- FINALLY! - working correctly. It is a 22-minute interview and I hope you'll enjoy it.
