It's a Hollywood dream cast for some. Except the producers, maybe, as Quentin Tarantino decided to pull in Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio for his next project, Inglorious Bastards. Get your tickets!
If Brad Pitt tears himself away from his newborns, he could be on the cast roll of Quentin Tarantino's latest.
Inglorious Bastards or Inglorious Bastards: Once Upon a Time in Nazi-Occupied France , is the latest offering from the stable of the maverick director. It's not only Pitt, but Leonardo DiCaprio is also supposed to be on the wish list of the director. And that's a wish list of ours too.
News
reports indicate that Tarantino has spoken with Brad Pitt about starring in the film as the Bastards' leader, scarred hillbilly Lt. Aldo '
The Apache' Raines. His next port of call is Leonardo, for the pivotal role of Col. Hans '
The Jew Hunter' Landa. the main adversary.
The film is a WWII drama with a completely original Tarantino-authored script. The theme is supposedly similar to the 'a group of men on a mission' plots common to genre hits like Dirty Dozen, Cross of Iron, Where Eagles Dare and the likes.
Who wouldn't want to back deadly 'star bursts' like that, and several studios are gunning for it. Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein of Weintein Co, one of the co-producers are meeting with several top honchos of Hollywood studios to thrash out the boring details of finance.
We are only interested in the final product. The film is supposed to premier at Cannes 2009. The wait seems long.
