A detainee in Guantanamo Bay said he would have been proud to participate in an attack on the United States. The man is accused of running a training camp for September 11th hijackers.
"Any attack I undertook against America, or even participated or helped in, I am proud about it, and I am happy," Waleed bin Attash told a military judge on Thursday.
Bin Attash spoke during a pretrial hearing to determine whether or not he willingly had chosen to represent himself. Attash is possibly facing the death penalty for his involvement in 9/11. He is charged with war crimes, including murder.
This is just a subtle reminder that there remain many people out there that would be "proud" to do us harm.
