According to the U.S. Border Patrol, an agent was assaulted and fired shots at three suspects along the Canadian border in Vermont.
The border patrol agents was interviewing the three suspects at approximately 2:15 a.m, when the suspects pushed the agent to the ground and started hitting him.

The agent pulled his weapon and fired two shots at the three suspects.

Two suspects, male and female, were taken into custody and the third escaped capture and it is believed he crossed into Canada.

The nationalities nor names of the suspects have been released and border patrol is working in conjunction with federal, state, local, and Canadian law enforcement officials to capture the person that escaped.

Anyone with information information regarding this incident is being encouraged to call it into the Border Patrol at Sector Headquarters in Swanton, Vermont, at 1-800-247-2434.
