On Sunday Sen. John McCain's campaign said that Barack Obama's remarks on Iraq left a significant question as to what Obama intends to do.
Randy Scheunemann, McCain's foreign policy adviser, said that Obama has held almost every conceivable position in the course of his brief career in Senate.

On Saturday Obama maintains his stance has not changed and he said that every word he says is closely measured.

McCain's campaign is suggesting that Obama's views could be becoming more in line with McCain's Iraq policy.

On Sunday Scheunemann said that Obamba's words left a significant question as to exactly what he intends. Schuenemann also said that if Obama's stance on Iraq is to maintain peace and stability before withdrawing troops, which is McCain's position, than McCain's campaign would welcome Obama's conversion to that position.

On Thursday Obama told reporters questioning his stance Iraq that he will continue to refine his policies as warranted. That is what started the war of words.

Obama denied that he was backing away from his proposed 16-month phased withdrawal of all combat troops from Iraq. Obama said that his position has not changed and he called it pure speculation.

After Obama made those comments National reporters and Republicans pounced on him and The Republican National Committee put out an e-mail statement and claimed that Obama was backing away from his position on withdrawal.

On Sunday Sen. John Kerry defended Obama and accused Republicans of avoiding reality. Kerry than went on and said that Republicans, mainly McCain, are trying desperately to get away from the reality of McCain's position and that is to stay in Iraq. Kerry also said that Obama's position has not changed whatsoever in his determination to end the war.

On Saturday Obama said he was confused by the frenzy surrounding his words and he said that he has been very consistent on Iraq. Obama than told reporters that he is absolutely committed to ending the war.

Obama was asked if he thought reporters made a mistake and he said that he was surprised at how every single word he said was closely measured. Obama than said that he didn't say anything different and last year he said the same thing when it came to Iraq.

Obama did place some blame for the confusion on the McCain campaign and he said that McCain's campaign primed the pump to the press to make it look like he was changing his position on his policy when in fact he wasn't. Obama goes on and said that McCain is going to have a harder time explaining how he is willing to perpetuate a presence in Iraq for 10, 20, 50 years.

Looks like the Republicans are getting desperate now and will try anything to make Obama look bad. Everything is all about Iraq, what about the first war, the Afghanistan war?
