70-year-old grandma, Omkari Panwar, gave birth to twins on Friday. This makes her the oldest woman ever to give birth.
Panwar, from Muzaffarnagar, India, delivered the twins, a boy and a girl, by Caesarean section.
These are not her first children, however. Panwar already has two adult daughters. It was her wish to produce a male heir, so she underwent in-vitro fertility treatment in order to become pregnant.
According the the Online Sun(article with photos), her husband, Charan Singh Panwar, a retired farmer, mortgaged his land, sold his buffalo, spent his life savings and took out a credit card loan to pay for the treatment.
The twins were born one month premature and weighed only two pounds each. They are healthy and expected to survive.
