Killer stabs woman multiple times cuts baby from her womb

By Chris V. Thangham     Jul 1, 2008 in Crime
A pregnant woman was killed and her nearly full-term baby was cut from the womb. The baby is listed in serious condition.
Washington State police arrested a 23-year-old woman of Laotian origin who had been residing in Kennewick, Washington.
Initially, she called the emergency Fire Department and claimed the newborn as her own baby. After further medical inspections the emergency crew found that the baby was not hers and that she had not recently given birth.
Further investigations led to the body of 27-year-old Araceli Camacho Gomez in Kennewick’s Columbia Park. She had her hands and feet bound with ropes. Autopsy results showed that she suffered massive trauma injuries to her stomach area and died of chest wounds.
The accused had lured Gomez and told her that she had spare baby boy clothes at her home. The free ride turned deadly for Gomez.
The baby boy was hospitalized at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane in critical condition.
The court documents showed that police found gloves soaked in blood, a box cutter, bloody paper towels, yarn, baby bottle and baby socks in the accused's purse.
Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong was married only a month ago and has no prior criminal history.
