A Lebanese teen in the U.S. on a visa shows fake ID claiming to be a federal drug agent working on a case. He had been stopped by police for running a red light.
Ferndale Michigan--A Lebanese teen in the U.S. on a visa shows fake ID claiming to be a federal drug agent after being stopped by the police. He was stopped for running a red light. The police noticed that he had illegal police lights and a siren on his pickup truck.

According to Daily Tribune Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson said,
"When officers stopped him he told them he was working on a case for the Drug Enforcement Agency."

Wilson added the suspect showed the police bogus federal credentials that identified him as a DEA agent and looked almost legitimate.

Rabih El Habhab, 18, of Dearborn Michigan appeared in Ferndale 43rd District Court where he was charged with impersonating a peace officer, a one-year misdemeanor; and a count of unlawfully equipping his vehicle with blue flashing police lights, a 93-day misdemeanor.

El Habhab a Lebanese national here on a visa has been released on personal bond but had to surrender his passport to the court.

The police were on patrol around 11:30 p.m. when they saw El Habhab's Dodge Dakota pickup truck run a red light.

Wilson said,
"The suspect ran a red light. As he ran the light our officer noticed the suspect used a siren and blue flashing lights like we have on our unmarked detectives' cars."

The police said the truck's headlights and taillights had the illegal lights.

When he was stopped El Habhap showed the police the false credentials and said he was a DEA agent, Wilson said. When the police looked at his driver's license, it showed he is 18 years old.

Wilson said,
"That's when the jig was up. "Our officer asked the suspect how he could be a DEA agent when the agency requires that you have to be 21 or older to be an agent. The suspect didn't have an answer for that."

El Habhab was also charged with driving on a suspended license.

His pretrial hearing will be in Ferndale District Court at 11 a.m. July 17.

Well he tried to pull it off by hoping the police would believe him which of course they wouldn't.

I wonder why he even had those kinds of false federal credentials.

    Who is checking?
As the Alzheimeric-in-chief was wont to say:
Government is not the solution. It is the problem!
Better to leave things like enforcement to free market controls.

    Or where he got them?

I think the reason he had them could be fairly well deduced, personally, without putting too much effort into it. As to where? You can get all sorts of emergency service supplies online from places I won't list so that I'm not making it easier for anyone to get them, but I myself, when I was a fireman, had ordered my red light for my truck online.

That was my first thought, as well.

Yes where did he get them? And who makes them so well that they look almost legitimate?

I also find it interesting that he is from Dearborn Michigan

    This is from Wikipedia;

Dearborn's population includes 30,000 Arab Americans. It has the largest proportion of Arab Americans for a city of its size (about 100,000).[5] The first Arabs who immigrated here in the early to mid-1900s to work in the automotive industry were chiefly Lebanese Christians. Since then, Arab immigrants from Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine, most of whom are Muslim have joined them. Lebanese Americans are still the most numerous group. In January 2005, a new Arab American National Museum opened to mark the ethnic group's history and contributions to this country. The city is also the location of the Islamic Center of America, the largest mosque in North America,[citation needed] and the Dearborn Mosque. The Arab-American population has settled primarily on the city's eastern side, though in recent years it has expanded west.
