Child Survives On Cat Food After Mom Dies

A 2-year-old boy survived on cat food for up to 6 days after his mother died, according to Sacramento police.

On Thursday morning, a social worker came by the house to check on the family. That is when the worker heard a toddler crying. After no one answered the door, the social worker called the police. Upon investigation, the police found the body of a thirty-six year-old female inside. It is not known what the cause of death was. All that is known, is that the woman suffered from a chronic illness. The boy is in protective custody while they determine if he can be placed with other family members.
