U.S. House Dubs June 30 'National Corvette Day'

The United States House has come up with a new resolution. This newly passed resolution calls forth for a “National Corvette Day.”

While there are many issues that concern the world let alone the United States, the United States House of Representatives has passed a resolution. The United States is dealing with all sorts of problems from the economy, health care, home foreclosure, the credit crisis, and so forth. Of the resolutions passed by the United States House of Representatives, it does not address any of these issues. This week’s resolution calls forth a “National Corvette Day.” Yes, there is a National Corvette Day that has been approved. On Monday, June 30, it will be known as National Corvette Day. This resolution is called House Resolution 970 or “HR 970.” The Chevrolet Corvette, the first sports car of the country, came off the assembly line on June 30, 1953. This Monday, it will be the 55th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette. It will be in honor of the Chevrolet Corvette. It does make me wonder if there will be a “National Mustang Day” in honor of the Ford Mustang. Still, of all the things the House representatives can discuss, they pass a resolution for a National Corvette Day. Of all the issues to discuss within the House, they come up with a National Corvette Day. It is highly doubtful that it will entice people to go out and buy and drive cars, let alone a Chevy Corvette. There is one question that needs to be asked: Are they serious?! It is highly unlikely that this will help out Chevrolet. For those that are curious about National Corvette Day, it was the "bright" idea of Republican Representative John Shimkus of Illinois.
