Today is officially the last day of the 2008 sturgeon fishing season in the Columbia river, between buoy 10 and the Wauna powerlines.
According to local fisherman, it appears that the quota of sturgeon caught has not been met. The fishing season is rumored to reopen near the 4th of July weekend.
The website to check for up to date regulation changes is www.dfw.state.or.us
So if you wanted to get out onto the Columbia River and hook into a sturgeon, but you thought it's too late. You might just be in luck. Call your local guide and see if there's room on the next trip out!
