A man borrowed a five-gallon can of gasoline 34 years ago and returned it recently with another brand new can filled to the top.
A man showed up at the doorstep of Violet and Harold Goff's home in rural northeast Ohio. The man told them that he had been at the same house in 1974, when he was 17 years old and ran out of gas. Then, he asked them for their help.

At that time, Harold Goff volunteered to help and gave Jeffrey Hardin a five-gallon can of gasoline and told him to return the can without fail. But Hardin failed to show up until now.

Hardin, who also lives in the area, told the Goffs that this debt was in the back of his mind all these years and he wanted to return it some day. He finally did with a new plastic five-gallon container filled with gasoline.

Even though it is a late gesture, Hardin did the right thing. I wish my neighbors were like that.
