Out of the 800-odd passengers who went missing after a Philippine ferry capsized as a result of Typhoon Fengshen that hit the Philippines last Saturday, many bodies have been recovered. More survivors have also been found.
It has just been a few days since the typhoon hit the Philippines, where more than 155 people were killed as a result, not including the 800 passengers who reportedly went missing when a local ferry, which was stranded at sea, capsized.
For those of you who haven't yet read my previous
article on the topic I had initially reported over 28 survivors being rescued. Thanks to more successful rescue operations, more than 57 survivors have so far been recovered.
However, 15 bodies were also found trapped inside the vessel floating around.
While it is not quite yet clear as to how many passengers were exactly aboard the ferry, MV Princess Of Stars, the number seems to keep rising. Initially, I had
reported over 700, now Philippine officials have indicated it might well be beyond the 800 mark.
Hope is not yet lost and divers are still searching for survivors.
