Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York City, has weighed in on the Anti-Obama e-mails that have been circulating around about his religious faith.
In the past few months as the Democratic primaries were going on between Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, there has been criticism that Obama was a Muslim. Anybody that has been keeping up with the elections should remember the picture of Obama wearing the traditional garb while on a trip to Africa several years back.

There are still rumors circulating around in regards to Obama’s religious faith. Recently, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has weighed in on the situation. Not only did Bloomberg weigh in on the e-mail rumors, he blasted them. Bloomberg laid the verbal smack down on such e-mails. He had said that it was divisive politics at the core of its worst.

Bloomberg was in Boca Raton, Florida, when he blasted the e-mail rumors.

Of course, in any election, one candidate’s supporters will look to pick holes in the other candidate’s statements – on Israel and everything else. And that’s fine. …,” Bloomberg explains. He adds: “But as we do that, let’s make sure that we, as Jews and as voters, keep the conversation focused on the facts and not let it descend into false rumor and innuendo.”

Bloomberg had addressed the rumors that Obama was secretly of the Muslim faith. There was the incident where there was a link between Obama and the Muslim faith because of his middle name being “Hussein.”

Also, Bloomberg said that those attacking Obama’s faith are using Israel as a cloak to hide behind. He said that the main thing to be considered about is partisan politics. Bloomberg said that he was not surprised to see Israel being used as a subject.

In short, Bloomberg has shot down the rumors about Obama.

The constant drum beat of rumors and BS stories (like many we see here on DJ) that are floated by the Cons is just proof of how scared they are of this guy. They know that he is going to win and that he is going to undo all the wicked, or just plain stupid, things that they have managed to do in the last three decades.

This could very well be one of those water shed elections that sees the Conservatives driven out of the halls of power and into the wilderness for a generation or more and the Cons know it.
