Consumer advocate and Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader has attacked presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois’ rejection of public funds.
Recently, presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois had opted not to accept public financing. That move had brought Obama under fire from presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona and the rest of the Republican Party. However, McCain has yet to attempt a labeling of Obama as a flip-flopper on policy.
Someone else has beat McCain to it. It was only a few months ago that consumer advocate Ralph Nader announced he was running for United States President again. Nader has been blamed by Democrats for being a spoiler. Now, the campaign for Ralph Nader has launched an offensive against Obama.
An e-mail to Nader supporters was sent out, pinning Obama for being tied to both big business and special interest groups.
“
Ralph Nader stands for shifting the power from big corporations back to the people. Period. Full stop. End of story,” the Nader campaign had written in the e-mail. It adds: “Contrast that with Senator Obama.”
The Nader campaign has taken advantage of Obama’s change in stance on various issues. However, Nader did not mention anything about McCain. Yes, Nader is still in the presidential race. He and Libertarian candidate Bob Barr have not been getting much media coverage.
However, one should not discount Nader. He could put a dent in either Obama or McCain in the near future.
