Considering the recent news of Israel's preparation for an attack on Iran and Hezbollah's recent preparation for an attack on Jewish communities in Canada, it is time to do the math and assess what exactly could result if reports are correct.
Welcome to Basic Math 101. Here's your first and only question - what do you get when you take one tactical air strike test conducted by the Israeli Air Force and add it with one anti-Israeli faction activating 'sleeper cells' to carry out attacks on Jewish sites? ... The answer is, a whole lot of serious problems.
Sure, the war drums that are clearly beating in Israel and the threat of Hezbollah sleeper cells in Canada being activated are problems enough on their own, but when you combine the two and assess the mutual assured dementia of what could follow, the whole situation kicks up a notch; Bam!
Just to be clear, the Israeli Air Force (may or may not have)
conducted a mock-offensive drill that involved some 100 F-15's and F-16's flying approximately 900 miles in the direction of the Mediterranean Sea which - conveniently enough - is roughly the same distance from Israel to Iran's Natanz nuclear enrichment facility.
Now that is in itself enough to fuss over. I mean, Israel has the support of the ... baronial... military of the Red White and Blue, and so if the Israeli government should find itself in a pickle of a situation with Iran - like for example, the situation that they would be in if they decided to tactically strike Iran's nuclear enrichment plant - you can bet the U.S. would be there in a heartbeat. Heck - they're in the neighborhood already anyways, it'd be a shame not to visit...
And let's be real, wouldn't the (current) U.S. (administration) just love the opportunity to get into Iran. I mean the place has its eyes on Weapons of Mass Destruction, plenty of oil, and maybe even a terrorist or two - aka, a great reason for (the current administration to go to) war. But hey, let me get off that train, I said there would only be one math question, and Israel plus the U.S. multiplied by Iranian actions is a whole other equation.
So to continue with the question at hand, lets look at the second half of the problem. Hezbollah - which (according to the cbc.ca anyway) is being supported by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard - has
activate 'sleeper cells' in Canada whom have "conducted recent surveillance on the Israeli embassy in Ottawa and several synagogues in Toronto."
Now, assuming that these 20 or so sleeper cells have been called into action to do more than just take pretty pictures and write captivating reports, this could result in an Iranian sponsored organization attacking the Jewish community. Do you see where this is going?
Yeah - I think you've got it. But I'm gonna spell it out anyhow.
If Hezbollah does in fact attack Jewish people in Canada, this could spark outrage in Israel - and somehow I don't think that they'll only be pointing the finger at the Canadian government for failing to protect the Jewish community. I think that just after getting angry with Canada, they'll use that same finger to try and poke out the eye of Iran for sponsoring such acts - all the while using the other hand to pet the United States and remind them how much they love and admire them.
So, according to my equation, Hezbollah attacks Canadian Jews, which gives Israel just the reason they need to tactically strike the nuclear facility in Iran that potentially could be - as we're speaking - producing Israel's death sentence (though this most likely is not the case), which then results in Iran mounting an all out war against Israel, which leads to U.S. intervention via massive, horrendous destruction a la the last five years.
And call me crazy, but Iran versus the U.S. could very well spawn into something even larger than that - though I don't even want to fathom such a thing. And let's hope we don't have to. Let's hope that cooler heads prevail. Let's hope that both the Herald Tribune (which is the New York Times' international paper) and the CBC are incorrect, and that their articles were baseless. Yes, let's hope that our math question was all for naught. Because if the equation I have just laid out is right, things in the world won't be.
Finally, I'd like to hear your answer to this equation. Is your math different than mine? Am I just kind of off? Am I dead on? Am I an idiot who doesn't deserve the time of day? I look forward to reading what everyone else thinks. Thanks for reading.
