The television show CSI may be responsible for the most searched item on Google. Spray-on condoms were talked on the show as a clue to the motive of a violent murder. That mention on-air sent thousands to their computers to research the product.
The spray on condoms even shot up to second place in Google Trends.
According to
Sify News the line in the show that prompted the search engine to go into overdrive was;
Demonstrating it on a model, the character Lindsay Monroe said: "Simply apply like so. Allow a few moments for maximum drying time and, boom. Instant condom."
The truth is though that the instant sperm blocker never made it to the shelves. The German inventor admitted that he and his team were never able to overcome technical problems with the product.
The inventor had hoped to have the product for sale by 2008. He appealed for tester to come forward promising that the spray on condom provides a better, safer fit for men of all sizes.
"Whether we can solve the technical problems, and whether the advancement of the idea is financially viable, remains uncertain," the Telegraph quoted Krause, as stating.
