The Tennessee Center for Policy Research has discovered that Al Gore consumes more energy with his home now than he did before he went "green".
The Tennessee Center for Policy Research headlines their most recent
investigative report with,
"Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month", determining that Al Gore's personal electricity consumption is up by 10 percent since his “energy-efficient” home renovations.
The President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, Drew Johnson, states,
"A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home," he then adds,
"Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”
Gore consumed 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in the last year, which the Tennessee Center for Policy Research shows, would power 232 average American homes for a month. The average American homes burns 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.
In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.
It was the Tennessee Center for Policy Research that
exposed the massive energy consumption by Al Gore which led to him making the the changes which would supposedly make his home more energy-efficient.
Gore added solar panels, installed a geothermal system, replaced conventional light bulbs with more efficient ones and overhauled the home’s windows and ductwork.
The end result was that now Al Gore's home burns up more energy than it did before making the changes.
Gore now uses 1,638 kWh more energy per month that he had previously at a cost of $16,533.
Al Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize but according to Johnson,
"Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity. Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

They obtained the data on Gore’s home energy use with a public records request to the Nashville Electric Service.
